Mongolian
language and literature department was found in September, 2001.
The Major of Mongolian language and literature was established in
1974 and began to recruit undergraduate students in 1978. It has
Mongolian-Chinese bilingual secretary, Mongolian culture, Chinese
language and literature and Mongolian-English language majors. During
recent 30 years, it has developed rapidly and cultivated more than
500 graduates under different majors. Most of them have played very
important role in their groups, such as teaching, researching, governing,
etc, which have made great contributions to the development of economy
and society in Mongolian areas both Qinghai and other provinces.
The goal of our department is to cultivate
the professional graduates which has a strong practicability, creative
ability to develop and reform economy and society in Qinghai and
nationalities areas in the west of China. Another goal is to feature
in national characteristic and regional characteristic. We should
adjust the structure of majors reasonably and actively, and take
advantage of our major traits to improve our schooling level, teaching
quality and social profits.
The goal of our major cultivation
is to cultivate the full developed graduates. On the basis of mastering
Mongolian knowledge systematically, our students have a good command
of Chinese, computer and English and they are also fit for secretary,
translation, press, editing, teaching, scientific research, administration
and law. They will be creative genius in our society.
During the recent 30 years, the department
has achieved greatly . Now there are five teaching classes and more
than200 students. The department has recruited students from Gansu,
Xinjiang, Inner-Monglia since 2000. 50 students are enrolled every
year.
At present there is one professor,
six vice professors, four lecturers, among whom two has got doctor¡¯s
degree, two master¡¯s degree, one is doing doctor¡¯s degree. Due to
fruitful scientific research, some teachers have become leaders
in some academic committees. For instance, Pro.Cairenbali is one
of the committee member and director in Mongolian literature committee
in China. Besides, the department has been responsible for the research
of the economy, culture, and history in Qinghai Mongolian areas.
With the open policy, one monograph
and eight coauthoring books have been published. More than essays
have been issued in public periodicals. Four scientific researching
programmes have been undertaken and three text books have been edited.
Six different prizes have been awarded.
